Yo!

I’m Adam, a cook and video creator from Chicago, Illinois. My story is a tad unconventional because I started my culinary career as a private chef... Let me explain.

Long story short, I’ve worked in restaurants since I was a kid. Working the counter at a deli, washing dishes, serving, bussing, you name it and I’ve probably done it. It wasn’t until after I graduated college at 22, that I got my start on “the line” on a food truck in Los Angeles.

Fast forward a couple years, (and 4-5 odd jobs later) and an opportunity arose to cook full-time as private chef for a single family. I cooked for the family, they liked my food and BOOM! I got the job. Overnight I went from scrubby, half-baked line cook to “Private Chef.” Needless to say, having never gone to culinary school and with little professional cooking experience, the imposter syndrome kicked in HEAVY. I became determined to learn and practice cooking as much as humanly possible until I became proficient - a mindset that I still live by today.

My skills have grown over the past 6 years of cooking professionally. I’ve cooked for 50+ person parties and events, “staged” (interned) at a Michilin starred restaurant, traveled to amazing locations for work, and had the chance to cook for A-list celebrities all the while meeting amazing and talented people along the way. However kick-ass all these experiences were, since taking the job as a private chef, my goal was always to make a career creating food-related videos.

I got serious about making videos around the same time I began working as a private chef; learning to use my camera quickly became part of my daily curriculum along with the cooking stuff. The idea was to record my culinary journey and to “learn out loud,” as a cook friend of mine coined it. Sharing what I learn and discover in a (hopefully) entertaining way has always been a main focus of what I do and will always be an integral part of Omnivorous Adam.

I’ve been very fortunate and have many people to thank, including YOU! So again, gracias for coming to my little corner of the internet and watching/cooking my stuff. I urge you to tie on an apron, pop on a video, pour yourself a crispy cold boy (or apple juice if you’re a young blood) and COOK ON! We’ll talk again soon, thanks for being here.
